With the goal of Net Zero Energy for low rise residential in 2020, accurate enforcement of the California Energy Code has become very important. To this end Energy Code Ace is an outstanding resource. I have a link to the website on my favorites bar. I regularly use the Reference Ace to locate applicable sections of the standards both in plan check and to answer questions from the public. There are also many great education resources on the site which we use to train our Building Dept. staff. I recommend you check it out!
