Electronic Signature

is a "computer data compilation of any symbol or series of symbols executed, adopted, or authorized by an individual to be the legally binding equivalent of the individual's handwritten signature.” 21 C.F.R. Section 11.3. For the purposes of using electronic signatures to sign compliance documents, the electronic signature shall be an electronic image of the signer’s handwritten signature.
