The ‘Nonresidential Alternative Calculation Method (ACM) Reference ‘Manual explains the requirements for approval of nonresidential compliance and compliance software in California. Approved software is used to demonstrate minimum compliance with the standards and to achieve beyond-code energy performance needed to qualify for reach standards. The procedures and processes described in this 'manual are designed to provide consistency and accuracy while preserving the integrity of the process of compliance. This 'manual addresses software for nonresidential buildings, hotels & motels, and high-rise residential buildings as outlined in Title 24, Part 6, Subchapter 5, §140.1. A separate ACM reference 'Manual applies to low-rise residential buildings. The approval process for nonresidential software programs is specified in Title 24, Part 1, §10-101 through §10-110 of the California Code of Regulations.
