2019 Residential Energy Code Forms
Official California Energy Commission compliance documents you can download and use to show compliance with the
2019 California Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24, Part 6 or Energy Code).
CF1R Forms (Residential Certificates of Compliance)
If your project scope includes HERS measures, CF1R documents will need to be completed through a HERS Provider’s registry. See the California Energy Commission website for more information on HERS and the HERS program.
CF1R documents are to demonstrate the project design and equipment are compliant with the Energy Code at time of permit application. You can use the Forms Ace tool to determine if your project requires HERS verification.
CF2R Forms (Residential Certificates of Installation)
The Residential Certificates of Installation (CF2R) are to demonstrate installations are compliant with the Energy Code at the time of construction and should be submitted by the installer to the inspector. You can use the Forms Ace tool to determine if your project requires HERS verification.
CF3R Forms (Residential Certificates of Verification)
CF3R documents are to demonstrate field verification and/or diagnostic testing is compliant with the Energy Code at the time of construction and should be submitted by the HERS rater to the inspector. If your project scope includes HERS measures, CF3R documents will need to be completed through a HERS Provider’s registry.
