The Timeline Ace™ allows you to track code development activities for California’s Title 24,
Part 6 Building Energy Efficiency Standards and Title 20 Appliance Efficiency Standards, and
Federal energy standards.
The timeline displays events such as meetings held by the California Energy Commission and other
relevant bodies, code language comment periods and dates that code changes go into effect in
chronological order. Each event on the timeline is a link to a dialog box containing summary
information describing the code development activity and applicable links to source information.
Events are organized by the applicable energy efficiency code as well as by either Residential
or Nonresidential building occupancy type. They may also be sorted by milestones that apply to
either the California Energy Commission or California investor-owned utility (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E
and SoCalGas), although not every event is associated with a milestone. Use the filters located
on the navigation bar to view specific event types. Individual events may be clicked to view a
In addition to filtering events, you can also change the length of time presented in the view
using the Time function. The timeline view defaults to six months, beginning one month prior to
the current month. Arrows on either end of the screen will allow you scroll forward or backward
in time. Note that months along the bottom of the screen may not scroll properly if the browser
screen is maximized, and we are working on a solution to this!
We encourage anyone who uses the included energy codes to note timeline events as opportunities
to weigh in during the code development process, to ensure that your feedback is heard, and to
stay informed of how and when new code requirements could affect your workflow.
