means a pump that is designed for use in pumping water with a maximum non-absorbent free solid content of 0.016 pounds per ft3, and with a maximum dissolved solid content of 3.1 pounds per ft3, provided that the total gas content of the water does not exceed the saturation volume, and disregarding any additives necessary to prevent the water from freezing at a minimum of 14o F.
